Like I wrote in my last post, my first IPL appointment was two days ago.
Maybe you remember, that I said I'd try to take pictures, but I didn't know that I was going to wear an eye mask so it was kind of hard to take pictures xD
Well, I think I'll write something about the process.
Before you go to you appointment you have to shave your legs to make sure they're in the "growing state", which is the only state where you can remove them. Actually what you do is atrophying the hair roots ^^
Usually, with each appointment you can atrophy 20-25% of the hair roots and it is common to have 4-8 appointments. I've read horror stories in the internet that people had 20 appointments and still couldn't see anything o.O
I would never pay for 20 appointments when I see that it's not working...
I was kind of worried that IPL wouldn't work for my hair, because I read that it only works on dark hair, but when Daniela, the woman who did the whole IPL procedure, saw my legs she immediately said, that my hair is dark enough.
I can't even imagine someone having even lighter hair on the legs than I do, cause my hair is already so light. ^^
Apparently it works best with dark hair and light skin. My skin is pretty light, so that should work^^
I laid down on a lounger and put my eye mask on.
Then Daniela put some very thick lotion on my legs and did a test run with the laser (actually I think it's no laser but impulse pulsating light or something like that? But it's shorter to write laser) to see if it hurts me.
At first I didn't even notice that she already lasered me, since I didn't really feel anything.
We then proceeded to do the whole leg. The pain was very bearable. It feels like a very warm object touches your skin for such a super short time. Sometimes it tweaks a bit, imagine someone pull a single hair out of your leg^^
After 20 minutes we were done!
Daniela said that I shouldn't go into the sun during the treatment, but she knows that's that really hard so I should just use sunscreen with SPF 30.
Now, 2 days later, I imagine that I can already see where the hair is gone^^ I guess it's impossible xD
Oh and for the costs, I am pretty lucky because I bought a coupon at Groupon.de, I'm sure there's a site like this in the country where you live, and there was an offer to get 6 appointments for 60€.
Usually one appointment is 50€ for the legs.
That seems much, but I think I would still pay the full price for it (provided that it works), because you're looking forward to a stress-free life of not shaving your legs ever again!
Sorry that I couldn't take pictures, I think after this weekend I'll have more to blog about^^
Btw is the weather also so shitty where you live? Yesterday it rained the whole day, without a break -.-
Oh and also thank you for your comments on my last post, they were .. great? horrible? xD
I thought they were great, but the stories about old men, weird people etc. were really horrible haha :D
Why are there people like that?! -.-
I'm going to answer your comments later!
I hope you have a nice day!
